dc.description.abstract | A Stem-and-Leaf plot, is a device for presenting quantitative data in a graphical format, similar to a histogram, to assist in visualizing the shape of a distribution. Unlike histograms, stem-and-leaf plots retain the original data to at least two significant digits. Stem-and-Leaf plots work well for medium sample sizes (say 30 to 100) but for large sample sizes a histogram may be preferred. A basic Stem-and-Leaf plot contains two columns. The left column contains the stems and the right column contains the leaves. | en |
