    Experimental studies on a specific purulent nephritis of equidae

    Specific purulent nephritis had occasionally been found in post-mortems at the institute. Theiler did some research in 1902 and in 1909 the micro-organism causing this disease was isolated. It was then possible for the first time to give the exact proof that one particular bacillus caused a specific haematogenous nephritis which generally ended fatally.

    Clinical symptoms of this disease as well as anatomical-pathological lesions were described. A comparison to the Lamziekte disease occuring in the Cape Colony was also made.

    Some experimental and epidemiological observations on a particular strain of pleuro-pneumonia

    Cattle were inoculated prophylactically against lung-sickness, subsequent to an outbreak of this disease in the herd. Some of the inoculated cattle started to show signs of reaction against this inoculation.
